Graduate School
Additional support for doctoral candidates
FAU is committed to providing excellent support for young researchers. The Graduate School is a key part of this initiative. The FAU Graduate School supports young researchers, promotes interdisciplinary and international co-operations and facilitates the integration of international doctoral candidates. Its main objective is to maintain the high quality of education and supervision that doctoral candidates receive at FAU.
The Graduate School is governed by a steering committee with members representing each type of doctoral degree and is chaired by the Vice President for Research.
Each of the University’s faculties, including the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Law, also have their own graduate schools which provide structure for doctoral candidates during their studies – whether they are working independently or as part of a research project – and place great importance on interdisciplinary collaboration across all faculties.
Doctoral candidates at the Graduate School of the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Law can obtain one of the following doctoral degrees:
Dr. jur.
School of Law
Dr. rer. pol.
School of Business, Economics and Society
